Woodside is an independent hospital providing an assessment, treatment and rehabilitation service for up to nine adults with a learning disability and accompanying mental health problems or other complex conditions.
Woodside provides assessment and treatment programmes as well as a rehabilitation service with a view to supporting the person to be discharged within the shortest time possible. As a non secure setting, we support people through robust support packages and relational rather than physical security. People may be admitted formally, under the Mental Health Act, or informally.
Many patients will be admitted following a crisis in their life and by bringing together the expertise of a full multidisciplinary team, including psychiatry, psychology and occupational therapy, we provide a safe and therapeutic environment to support people to re-establish some stability, make some changes and find new ways of coping so that they can then prepare for discharge.
