Woodside is Woodleigh’s independent hospital for up to nine adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours and accommodates both informal patients and those detained under the Mental Health Act 1983. It provides people with a bespoke rehabilitation service within a community setting.

As a non secure service, Woodside depends upon relational security provided by a close working relationship with the patient and the expertise of the clinical team in order for the person to feel safe and introduce some stability and daily structure in their day to day life. We offer a person centred approach for the purposes of  assessing a patient’s needs and then delivering a treatment and rehabilitation plan with a view to identifying a suitable step down service as part of their care pathway.

This service may be suitable for a person who requires significant clinical input and intervention during an acute phase or who requires ongoing rehabilitation as part of their care pathway, including as part of step down from a low secure setting.

When a person is admitted, there is usually an assessment period after which we would prepare with the patient a Person Centred Plan, setting out their personal goals, treatment needs, skill levels and our risk management strategy. This process includes forming a clear plan of how we can help the person, setting key objectives and agreeing a care pathway strategy.

Woodside is based in Bradford, close to the M62 motorway and urban conurbations of Yorkshire and the North.
